Between 2023 and 2024, I worked with talented artist eli moon on his EP 'tabula rasa'. As the name suggests, the EP's theme is all about starting again, starting from a blank slate, and a new chance. After initial conversations, eli and I agreed on using the dove as a central motif, combined with a blank page. Using both of these, I created the letterhead cover art below, as well as these two social media promotional materials.
One of my first ideas was to use a silhouette of a dove, as if behind a pane of glass, beckoning us to step forward and 'start again'.
We pivoted away from that so something more similar to the final cover. I really liked the letterhead design, and thought we could leverage a bi-folding record sleeve to create one huge letter with a letterhead and footer. We abandoned this idea when we realised the EP would only be available digitally.
